Nan Zhao received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Taiyuan University of Technology, China, in 2012; the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from The University of Manchester, UK, in 2013; the Ph.D. degree in engineering from McMaster University, Canada, in 2017. In 2018, Dr Zhao joined the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College Dublin, Ireland, as an Assistant Professor. He is a member of the IEEE and a regular reviewer for IEEE transactions journals. His main research is in the field of electric machines, drives and related power electronics for transportation electrification and transient energy sources to support renewable energy conversion. He also has emerging interests in signal processing and neural network for electric machine condition monitoring and power system analysis.
